BOOM(er)

BOOM(er)
Here's a quick illustration of a Boomer from the Gears of War series by Epic Games. Their "BOOM" haunts my nightmares, you guys. That, and Marcus yelling "REVIVE MEEEEE!" and "MEDIC!"

Haha, fun times.

Seaworthy

Davos Seaworth
Next up in my "A Song of Fire and Ice" illustration series is Davos Seaworth. Davos isn't one of the flashier characters in the novels, but he has become of of my favorites. He's similar to Eddard Stark in that he's a very honest and loyal character, but has a past as a smuggler. This not-quite-legal career path led Davos to knighthood after he snuck into a besieged castle to deliver foodstuffs. Stannis Baratheon rewarded him for this venture, but took had Davos's left-hand fingers cut off at the first joint as a punishment for smuggling.

Davos kept the finger bones in a pouch around his neck to remind himself of the past and the actions that earned his family their name. Honor from dishonor, in a way.

Gossamurder

Gossamurder
Here's a sketch reimagining of Gossamer from Looney Tunes. I believe we were talking about the new Looney Tunes cartoon at Drink & Draw earlier tonight, which inspired this illustration.

Doctor Who Companion Series

Donna Noble
Martha Jones
Here are two quick sketches of Donna Noble (top) and Martha Jones (lower), two Companions from Doctor Who. Done during Drink & Draw with a brush pen and Copic markers. May continue the quick-sketch Who series soon!

The Maid of Tarth

The Maid of Tarth
Here's another in my "A Song of Fire and Ice" portrait series. Brienne of Tarth, also known as "The Maid of Tarth" with a grip on Jaime Lannister's Oathkeeper sword.

I also have illustrations of Davos Seaworth and Reek on the way!

Cake Triforce

Birthday Triforce
It is dangerous to go alone! Eat this!

It's my dear friend Sarah's birthday today, so I whipped up this cake for her. The Triforce of OMG, LOL and WTF. Zelda cut out the middle piece, which I guess was the Quadforce of NOM.

Happy Birthday, Sash! :D

Here's Swampy

Swampy
Last week my Twitter friend Ryan Russell suggested I draw Swamp Thing. I've never drawn him before so I figured it'd be a fun challenge. Of course I had to add a little humor into the composition, haha.

The actual ink drawing is on 11x17 inch bristol board, if anyone is interested in purchasing the original artwork. It's in straight black & white, of course. The colors were done digitally.

Mugwai

Mugwai
Yesterday I asked Twitter for lunchbreak drawing suggestions. The first request was for Gremlins fan art. Haha, so this is what I came up with. A quick, silly coffee/mogwai pun!

Chirpa Dirp

Chief Chirpa
Drawed Goods went on a mini Ewok kick the other day, so I drew Chief Chirpa dancing the Chirpa Dirp. I'm not sure but I hope it's not a mating dance.

I love Star Wars. Ewoks and all!

Cosplay Sights from SDCC

Frequent Cosplay Sights
Here are some of the more frequent (and usually more disturbing) cosplay sights from this year's San Diego Comic-Con. There were plenty of others, but we shan't speak of those.

Bearded Finn - There was much Adventure Time representation at the Con this year. Not all Finn cosplayers were children. And definitely not all of them were clean shaven. Slightly disturbing.

Plus-Sized Slave Leia - Look. If you're going to dress as Slave Leia, you know what you're getting into. Seriously.

Anonymous - Perhaps the easiest costume ever. That doesn't discourage many from donning it, however.

Fat Captain America - I'm not surprised that I saw several of these. I actually DID see one using his shield as a plate, too. Maybe they're trying to make a social statement.

Doctors 10 & 11 - Probably the most common costumes were from Doctor Who. There were SO MANY 10 and 11s that I lost count on the second day. The award goes to the parents that dressed their three children up as Doctors 9, 10 and 11, though!

Plus-Sized Poison Ivy - In the same realm as Slave Leia, but a little trickier because there may be green skin involved. A lot of green skin.

Old Indiana Jones - I suppose old guys think that's really their only option. Actually, a good alternative is to not dress up at all.
