TurduckInvincible

TurducdInvincible
At Wizard World Austin 2010, I picked up the two large hardcover volumes of Invincible, an ongoing Image comic created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker. I tore through those two volumes; it is pretty darned awesome.

Invincible, or Mark Grayson, has had to tackle a number of eccentric villains during the course of the series. So I figured it'd be perfectly natural for him to save the holidays from a giant, deranged mutant turducken. Right?

I thought it'd be a nice illustration on which to end 2010. Happy New Year, everyone!

The Shark Side of the Force

The Shark Side of the Force
You're probably familiar with how Samuel L. Jackson went out in Deep Blue Sea. And we all know how Mace Windu perished in Star Wars.

But what if Windu was attacked by the shark from Deep Blue Sea? Here's SLJ's modified speech from Deep Blue Sea:

"Nature can be lethal, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Force. Now, you've seen how bad things can get...and how quick they can get that way. Well, they can get a whole lot worse. So, we're NOT going to fight ANYMORE. We're going to pull together...and we're gonna find a way to get out of here! First, we're gonna seal the blast doors—"

:SHARK ATTACKS:

Maybe Mace Windu would have fashioned a lure out of some fishing line and his lightsaber. That could have totally worked. Heck, he could have used Yoda as bait!

Strangels Among Us

Here's the fifth Cup Art illustration I've done at Americas Coffee House in downtown Lafayette. Was initially inspired by the Pokemon "Quagsire."

True Grit - Jeff Bridges

True Jeff Grit

I don't know much about True Grit. But I DO know that Jeff Bridges is pretty awesome, AND that the Coen brothers are pretty darned awesome.

So, I reckon this movie'll be pretty darned tootin' awesome.

I haven't read the book or seen the John Wayne movie. Don't hate me.

Hellboy Loves Cats

Hellboy Loves Cats
Drawn for "Hellboy Friday" at Drawed Goods.

I've always loved the red Mignola uses for Hellboy.

That MAY be the reason that I started reading the comic, in the first place!
